In the early stages of my college career I fell in love with volleyball, sparked with the beginning of my work with St. Cloud State and head coach Chad Braegelmann.

 

Assigned as Play-by-Play Voice of the Huskies in the 2017 and 2018 seasons for KVSC 88.1 FM in St. Cloud, my passion for the sport grew with each match. As part of my Athletic Coaching minor, I spent a semester learning the finer intricacies of the game with coach Braegelmann.

 

Following the completion of my second season with the Huskies, I was honored to receive an Award of Excellence from the 2019 Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts for my call of St. Cloud State’s four-set upset of then-No. 10 Southwest Minnesota State on October 6, 2018. Not only was I one of just six student play-by-play commentators nationwide to earn an award, I notably was the lone volleyball commentator to be recognized.

I anticipate a long career calling collegiate volleyball during the offseasons of professional baseball, with a goal of someday covering the sport at the Olympics.
